An officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been accused of molesting two underage girls in his apartment in Nembe-Bassambiri community in Bayelsa State.

We gathered that the NSCDC officer raped the two the girls, aged 10 and 12, multiple times in his apartment before the case was reported to the police in the area.

The victims’ mother, who reported the case, said the incident was already causing the children psychological trauma.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Diri-Ogbere Solomon, in a statement over the weekend, confirmed that it received a report regarding the alleged defilement of two underage sisters in Nembe by one of its personnel.

Solomon stated that the NSCDC was investigating the matter and that if the information was found to be correct about the alleged crime, the suspect would face the full wrath of the law.

He stated that the situation was being handled appropriately as disciplinary measures were being instituted, adding that the agency would not hide any of its personnel found to have committed such a crime.

This is coming few days after NSCDC officers uncovered a decomposing corpse of a middle-aged woman suspected to be a rape victim behind a primary school in Anambra State.
