After an impressive showing in the early part of the game, Bukayo Saka went off injured and was replaced by Lucas Torrierra before the start of the second half.

For Burnley, they have now failed to beat Arsenal in 12 league meetings, drawing two and losing 10.

Arsenal are now 10th on 31 points and are now 10 points away from fourth position in the league table.

Arsenal had the first big chance of the game on 2nd minute but Alexandre Lacazette failed to convert Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s cross as his header missed the target.

In the 14th minutes Arsenal went close again through Aubameyang who brought down David Luiz long pass but fired wide.

Burnley had their first chance on 18 minutes as Jay Rodriguez fired a lovely strike toward goal, which Bernd Leno palmed away.

In the 36th minute Nick Pope came out to deny Aubamenyang from close range, after the striker broke through the defence from a through ball.

Burnley went close to opening the score on 60 minutes only for Jeff Hendrick’s header bouncing just wide.

With 12 minutes remaining Burnley had a big chance to score through Rodriguez who latched onto a header unfortunately the ball bounced off the line, before being cleared for a corner.
