The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given a Certificate of Return to Senator Hope Uzodinma as Imo State governor-elect.

Uzodinma was awarded the certificate on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, barely 24 hours after the Supreme Court nullified the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of the state.

Ahead of his swearing in, Uzodinma placed an ‘Order of Post No Debit’ on all the state’s accounts and asked the bank not to honour a transaction of the recently sacked governor.

The new governor-elect issued this order on Wednesday morning before receiving his Certificate of return.
