A caring husband has gone viral after he turned himself into a ‘human chair’ so as to allow his heavily pregnant wife to take the weight off her feet by sitting on him while waiting to see her doctor at a hospital China.
A video record from the scene shared by the police of Hegang, a city in the province of Heilongjiang in north-eastern China, has touched the hearts of millions of people.
In the footage, the mother-to-be with a bulging belly appearing tired and struggling to stand due to numbing legs outside a consultation room.
A group of onlookers watched from their seats across the corridor even though the woman was visibly struggling. Not one person offered to give up their chair. Instead, they were seen playing on their phones and seemingly trying to ignore the couple.
After a few moments, the woman’s husband came up with a solution to ease off his her numbing legs.
He sat on the floor and leaned forward so his tired partner could take a seat on his back and take some of the pressure off her legs.
The caring man then went the extra mile to make the woman comfortable by offering her a bottle of water from his position on the floor.
The police, who shared the video which is titled “indifference”, criticized the onlookers who were staring at their phones and wouldn’t give up their seats.
All the while, the people across the corridor watched on without moving. The scene presented very conflicting views on the selflessness of humanity.
