Former national team coach, Fanny Amun, has
admonished the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to dismiss the Golden Eaglets
coach, Manu Garba after Nigeria’s ouster from the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The Nigeria under 17 team on Wednesday lost
3-1 to the Netherlands side,a team that managed to qualify as the third-best
team from their group.
“The essence of participating in the
competition is development; for the Coaches and players,” Amun stressed.
“It isn’t about winning. The FA should have a
rethink about the appointment of coaches. They should look towards extending
their tentacles to other Coaches.” Amun was stated in an interview.
Fanny Amun was in charge when the Nigerian
side won the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup in
Japan.
