For a few months now, Yemi Alade has been teasing her forthcoming album, Woman of Steel. Finally, the singer-songwriter has revealed the cover art, tracklist and the August 30 release date for the project, along with two new singles, “Home” and “Give Dem”.
Woman of Steel, Yemi Alade’s fourth studio album, will be a predominantly solo effort, with the singer taking 10 of the tape’s 15 track all by herself. And when it comes to the collaborative joints, Yemi Alade calls upon a diverse cast to aid her.
The project features African legend, Angelique Kidjo; Nigerian pop veteran, Duncan Mighty; Nollywood favourite, Funke Akindele; as well as the Grammy-nominated rapper, Rick Ross, who featured on the “Oh My Gosh” remix earlier this year.
As for the two new singles, “Home”, which appears first on the album, is a spritely Vtek-produced number, upon which Yemi Alade sings that she wants to go anywhere her baby goes — declaring that wherever he goes is her home.
The second single, “Give Dem”, is produced by the talented Krizbeatz. The track plays with more minor notes, and it sees Yemi Alade brag about how much of a baller she’s become, as she now gets to fly all over the world.
