From Wives on Strike to Wings of a Dove, Omoni Oboli‘s films have succeeded at raising important conversations about women’s freedom in society. Her latest exploit, Love Is War, which follows a party’s first female gubernatorial candidate, is no different.
Love Is War follows the drama of a married couple who run against each other in the gubernatorial elections for the same state. Written by Chinaza Onuzo, the political drama considers how ambition, pursuing one’s dream and rivalry play out within a loving and supportive marriage.
As usual, Omoni Oboli is set to star in her own film, joined by RMD, Jide Kosoko, Shaffy Bello, Bimbo Manue and more. Speaking about what the film means to her, the actress cum director shared the following:
“The issues at play in this movie are very dear to my heart and I can’t wait for the audience to experience my vision.”
We are equally as excited as Oboli to see how she brings this tantalising story to life, both as a director and a cast member. As the film will be hitting Nigerian cinemas on September 27, we thankfully don’t have too long to wait.
