Former Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has apologized to his predecessor, former Governor Victor Attah, begging for forgiveness over soured relationship and caustic utterances after succeeding Attah.National Dailylearned that Akpabio begged Attah “for forgiveness over unguarded utterances;” while “pleading for reversal of prayers from the elder statesman,”
Attah was said to have accepted Akpabio’s apology but rejected monetary gifts from his successor; he, however, counseled him to be a genuine repentant and turn a new leaf.
National Dailygathered that the two former governors in Akwa Ibom at the end reconciled.
Akpabio is now a minister designate after losing in the 2019 general elections in Akwa Ibom State having defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He was Senate Minority Leader while in PDP.
