During her recent concert in Australia, Grammy-winning singer Pink paused the show briefly to offer words of encouragement to a fan who unexpectedly went into labor, demonstrating a heartfelt moment of support.
After seeing a pregnant woman getting wheeled out of her concert by a medic, the So What hitmaker, 44, paused halfway through her performance of Our Song to see what was going on.
Once she discovered that the concertgoer was experiencing contractions, the mom-of-two (born Alecia Beth Moore) excitedly tried to find out the baby-to-be’s gender.
‘Is it Alicia or Alex being born? she asked, referencing her birth name, from the stage.
Pink, who admitted that she didn’t feel they should ‘be looking’ anymore, urged the crowd to give the woman some ‘privacy.’
‘Wow, Our Song, that was the one that did it. Wouldn’t have called that one! I thought it would’ve been Get The Party Started or ‘Never Not Gonna Dance Again,’ she said.
The performer went on to sweetly congratulate the laboring mom.
‘That’s exciting. I don’t even know what to say. But we have to sing now. Good luck! It’s gonna be great! You’re gonna do great,’ she shouted.
In August, at her concert at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, a fan, named Angela Mercer, went into labor and later welcomed a son.
Mercer, who was 31-weeks pregnant at the time, traveled all the way from Albany, New York, with family members to attend Pink’s Summer Carnival Tour stop in Boston, according to a lengthy statement, released on August 9th by Brigham and Women’s Hospital on its Facebook page.
The post also included pictures of Mercer, her newborn son Aycen Hart, and the relatives who went to the concert and hospital with her.
