President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to travel to Abidjan to attend the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 final between the Super Eagles and the hosts, the Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire, on Sunday.
The President of CAF, Patrice Motsepe, stated this at a media conference in Abidjan on Friday.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated South Africa 4-2 in a penalty shootout to make it to the final.
On Sunday, Nigeria will clash with hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the 2023 AFCON final at the Alassanne Ouattara Stadium, Ebimpe Abidjan.
The match would kick off at 9pm Nigeria time.
However, when asked if an African country would bid to host the FIFA World Cup again after South Africa, Motsepe said, “Nigeria must put in a bid. The Nigerian President (Bola Tinubu) is coming to watch the final on Sunday. I will have a conversation with him about it.”
