Former Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Monday stormed the Senate of the Nigerian National Assembly for ministerial screening.

Former Governor Wike took the Senators down memory lane of his eight years administration of Rivers State – 2015 to 2023, narrating that he completed many projects to improve the infrastructure of the state. The former governor also told the federal lawmakers at plenary that he invited politicians across party lines to commission the projects he completed in Rivers.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio had made brief remarks on the former governor. Thereafter, Akpabio, acknowledging Wike’s competence and capacity to deliver, told him to take a bow.

There wasn’t much interrogation of the former Rivers Governor, as the screening of ministerial nominees continue.
Former Governor Wike is still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but was nominated by President Bola Tinubu for ministerial appointment in the government of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
