A security guard with Prime Soil Limited, Habibu Usman, has been beheaded by suspected ritualists on a farm at Piri village, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Daily Trust reports.
A colleague of the deceased, simply identified as Ibrahim, said the incident occurred last Thursday about 9:38pm. He said he went to take over from his colleague at the farm on Friday morning but could not see him.
He said while he was waiting with the hope that his colleague would turn up, another staff, Jibrin, who was guarding bulldozers and tractors inside the farm called him that he saw a polybag containing the deceased’s belongings by the road side. Ibrahim added that when he called Usman’s phone number, it did not connect and he became alarmed.
“It was then I decided to call the family to know if he was at home but when I was told he was not at home, we went in search of him on my motorcycle.
“We searched for the deceased even down to a stream and we couldn’t find him that night. It was until around 12: am on Saturday that his headless body was found close to the highway in a pool of blood,” he said.
He said he called the police at Kwali and they came with a patrol van to convey the corpse to Kwali General Hospital, where autopsy was carried out and the corpse released to the family for burial.
The wife of the deceased, Mrs. Zuwaira Habibu, who spoke with our reporter at Yangoji, yesterday, amidst tears, said the death of her husband has put the family into disarray.
She said she has four children for the deceased, and called on security agents to fish out the perpetrators.
When contacted, the FCT police command spokesman, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, asked our reporter to give him time to reach out to Kwali police division to confirm the incident and call back but he did not at the time of filing this report.
