The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has reacted to the chaos which occurred at the concert of Nigerian singer, Asake.

Naija News earlier reported that the 27-year-old singer’s concert turned chaotic on Thursday night, leaving ten people injured.

According to reports, a large number of people without tickets tried to storm Asake’s concert at the O2 Brixton Academy which left four fans in critical condition.

Doors to the venue were locked, shutting out many valid ticket holders as well as those trying to gain unauthorized entry and it resulted in the show being canceled.

Reacting, Sadiq Khan, in a statement, expressed sadness over the incident stating that an urgent investigation is underway.

According to the Mayor of London, eight people have been hospitalized while four are in critical condition following the incident.

He said “My thoughts are with all those affected by the awful incident at Brixton Academy.

“Eight people were taken to hospital, with four in critical condition.

“An urgent investigation is underway and I remain in close contact with the Met Commissioner since last night.

“I’m heartbroken that this could happen to young Londoners enjoying a night out in our city and urge anyone with any information to contact the police on 101.

“I won’t rest until we have the answers their loved ones and the local community need and deserve.”
