A year ago, Adekunle Gold released his fantastic sophomore album, About 30, and has since followed it up with some stunning visuals. Now, it looks like he’s ready to give us a new taste of what he has to offer, as he recently announced that he’ll be releasing his third album this year.
Adekunle Gold is one of the most consistent Nigerian artists working today, and it’s clear that everything about his craft is well thought-out. His latest single, “Before You Wake Up” finds the talented singer exploring a fresh sound, and that makes us really hyped for his new album.
Speaking about the upcoming album, Adekunle Gold said:
“I’m cooking something extra special for you. Your friends who are not fans will have a lot to say, or maybe they will become believers; I don’t know.
I am having a blast creating what I’m creating. I want to have fun, not tied down by genres or being incarnations of someone else’s creation in the past.
I am genuinely loving this expression of myself and I am itching like someone touched me with werepe to share it with you.”
The singer has already proven himself to be a tour de force in the Nigerian music industry, so he can afford to pivot and try out something totally different. Whatever he does, we know it will be amazing, and we can’t wait to hear more about the upcoming project.
Until then, we’ll continue jamming to his old stuff.
