Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), expressed his condolences to troops engaged in a road accident on Thursday in Garin Kuturu, on the Maiduguri–Damaturu route.
A detachment of Nigerian soldiers combating Boko Haram was involved in an accident on their way to rescue passengers attacked by Boko Haram, according to NEWS DIRECT.
On Friday, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, acknowledged that one of the weapons trucks transporting the troops went off the road and slammed into a road shoulder.
The automobile somersaulted as a result of the event.
Nwachukwu went on to say that nine people suffered varied degrees of injury and are being treated in a military medical center, with no fatalities reported.
As a result, he praised the troops for their quick response and warned them to be more cautious during emergency operations.
