We Do Not Plan To Impeach Speaker – Nasarawa Lawmakers

The lawmakers in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have denied that they were planning to impeach the Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi.

The Majority Leader of the House, Tanko Tunga who spoke yesterday at the beginning of a plenary session at the House of Assembly in Lafia told the public to disregard the speculation and described the news as ‘fake news’.

He said the Speaker of the House was alleged to have done some wrongdoing and that members of the Assembly have agreed to impeach him. He said the public should disregard the news.

He said the Assembly is one of the most peaceful in the country and they have passed many bills and resolutions with positive impact in the lives of the people.

“This House is 100 per cent in support of the leadership of the Speaker and cannot think of impeaching him at this material time,”

He the stressed that the House will continue to support the Speaker and also thanked him for how he has led the house.

The Minority Leader of the House, Danladi Jatau also described the news as big lie
