Equatoguinean star Jade Boho took the prize for the Liga Iberdrola player
of the week (24) edging out Barcelona Ladies forward Asisat Oshoala and Real Betis’ Yaiza Relea Ramos, reports Completesports.com
Boho, 32, who plays for Logrono polled 976 votes with Yiyi and and Oshoala securing 532 and 294 votes respectively.
It is the third time the forward will be winning the award and she is the third African to win the prize after Cote d’Ivoire’s Ange Koko and Nambia’s Zenatha Coleman.
She scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute in the 2-1 win against Real Madrid Ladies to help boost Logrono ‘ s survival hopes.
Oshoala also put in a fine performance for Barcelona Ladies in the week under review.
She bagged the first goal in Barcelona Ladies 2-0 away win against Atletico Madrid Ladies at Wanda Metropolitano.
The goal was her fifth in five appearances since she arrived on loan from Chinese club Dalian Quanjian in January.
The former Arsenal and Liverpool Ladies starlet has missed her side’s last two games due to the injury she picked up in the game against Atletico Madrid Ladies last Sunday.
The former FC Robo of Lagos player will be one of the key stars for the Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France this summer.
