Phyno has been on a collaborative roll for most of 2019’s first quarter, working with a variety of different artists — from popular acts such as Ice Prince and Falz on “Feel Good”, to fellow Igbo rappers, namely Zoro and Tidinz on “AkpaAza”. Now, he’s finally dropped his first solo track of the year, “Agu”.
Produced by T-Spice, “Agu” boasts an enchanting introduction before the beat picks up its pace, and the song becomes effervescent. The track is rather lengthy, thanks to Phyno’s three impressive verses, broken up by a lasting chorus that simply begs us to dance.
On the spirited bop, Phyno encourages his haters to stay humble, affirming that he works tirelessly, minds his business and focuses on making more money. He attributes his success to this chosen lifestyle, and we all could really learn a thing or two from him.
Honestly, after over four minutes of undiluted Phyno magic on “Agu”, we are dying to hear more solo tracks from the rapper. Hopefully, he’ll treat us some more as the year carries on, but until then we’ll be bumping the fantastic track as much as we can.
