Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido removed as Emir

Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II has been dethroned. This was announced yesterday Monday March 9th at a special sitting of the Kano executive council chaired by Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of the state.

Usman Alhaji, secretary to the state government, announced the dethronement, saying that it is with immediate effect. He also added that a new emir will be announced shortly.
