Nigerians have descended heavily on UK-based Ghanaian gospel artist Sonnie Badu for comments he shared on social media condemning looting and riots in the country.
Badu in a Facebook post claimed Nigerians have attacked and robbed some Chinese and whites all in the name of retaliation to anti-foreigner attacks in Johannesburg.
He added that some hoodlums have even taken advantage of the situation to loot Nigerian-owned shops, and believes that such acts of violence will not solve the attacks in South Africa in any way.
However, some Nigerians who felt offended by Dr Badu’s comments criticized him for spreading what they described as lies about the country in angry protests.
They rained insults on him with many admonishing him to verify his fact before spreading fake news.
