Two officers of Federal Road Safety Corps simply identified as Abioye and Bayegunni, abducted on Sunday by gunmen along Ilesha/Akure Expressway, had been released.
The two men were abducted near Iwaraja, a town in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State.
The two men, according to reliable sources were released late Tuesday evening.
Although details of their freedom are not immediately known, A senior FRSC officer, who pleaded anonymity confirmed the release. As the time of filing this report, the officers were said to have since yesterday reunited with their family.
Information gathered that their abductors collected a sum of 1.8 million naira as ransom before they were released.
It was also gathered that one of the kidnapped who could not bear the pressure mounted on him in the kidnapper’s den died before the other were freed.
