President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with a serving senator from Kano State, Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Halima Gaya.
According to Punch, Halima Gaya died as a result of coronavirus-related complications at the National Hospital Abuja on Friday evening.
Buhari, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Friday, described late Hajiya Halima as a “remarkable woman who dedicated herself to promoting education’’.
The President commended her investments in establishment of private schools, adding: “It is a laudable initiative which should be emulated by others.
“Education is the tool for modern development and no country can afford to ignore its vital role in our lives.
“My heart goes out to Sen. Gaya and the people of Kano State. May Allah grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
President Buhari also prayed that God will accept the soul of the departed and reward her good deeds with paradise.
