Administrators of the federal government social intervention scheme, N-Power have sent a warm message to beneficiaries under the scheme on the occasion of the 2020 workers’ day.

The message was released across the official social media pages of the N-Power scheme such as Facebook and Twitter on Friday, 1st May, 2020.

It described the beneficiaries as incredible people who work day and night to make Nigeria a better place. It appreciated them for their hard work and noted how proud they are of them.

“Happy Worker’s Day to the incredible men and women who toil day and night to make Nigeria a better place.

“Thank you for all your hard work. We are proud of you,” the statement reads.

According to Wikipedia, the International Workers’ Day, also known as Workers’ Day or Labour Day in some countries and often referred to as May Day, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement which occurs every year on the first day of the month of May.

Meanwhile, administrators of the N-Power scheme on the 30th of April, apologized to beneficiaries who are yet to receive their March stipends. It explained that part of the reason for the delay is the change in its payment platform in a bit to harmonize it with government payroll.

It urged all those affected to remain calm and continue to stay safe as their stipends will be paid.

The N-Power scheme was previously managed under the supervision of the office of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo but was moved to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development under Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq following the creation of the ministry in 2019.

The N-Power scheme is a social intervention scheme introduced in 2016 by President Muhammadu Buhari, as a two-year programme for graduate and non-graduate Nigerians between the ages of 18-35.

The beneficiaries enjoy N30, 000 monthly stipend, and devices during the duration of their stay in the scheme in exchange for services offered including teaching, agric extension services, health, etc.
