EFCC Arrests 7 Party Agents For Vote Buying
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office have arrested seven party agents suspected to be involved in vote- buying. Gistvic Reports.
They were arrested variously in Owerri, Imo State and Umuahia, Abia State.
Six of them were arrested together in Owerri and they are: Ohiry Nnenna; Chigozie Innocent; Nwabueze Nkemdirim; Onyejekwe Chinonye, Ikemenogu Ijeoma and Iteghire Vitus. A sum of N252, 100( Two Hundred and Fifty Two Thousand, One Hundred Naira only) meant for vote -buying was found on them. Gistvic Reports.
The 7th agent, sensing arrest in Umuahia, abandoned his car and disappeared into thin air. The car, has however, been impounded. A sum of N600,000( Six Hundred Thousand Naira Only) was found in it when it was searched.
The suspects would soon be charged to court. Gistvic Reports.
