The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday evening confirmed 114 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Nigeria. This brings the total number of cases in the country to 1095.

The federal government of Nigeria has approved a comprehensive life insurance package for all COVID-19 frontline workers in the fight against the pandemic. Alhaji Mamman Daura, a nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, has claimed that Abba Kyari was among those considered for the position of Vice President to President Olusegun Obasanjo. In a tribute to the late chief of staff to the President Muhammadu Buhari, Daura said this was in the run-up to the 1999 Presidential election when Obasanjo was the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Nigerian entertainment industry, on the early hour of Friday (today), lost another veteran who had for a while battle a yet to be revealed sickness. Reports reaching Naija News at this time confirmed that actor, Yomi Obileye, has died on April 24, 2020.
