In October last year, the supremely gifted singer and producer, Odunsi (The Engine) blew our minds with his game-changing debut album, rare., and has since been on a winning streak — from award nominations to sold out shows.

Wrapping up his UK tour in London last night, Odunsi opens a new chapter today, bringing us a new single, “Tipsy”, which features UK singer, RAYE.

Premiering on Beats 1 radio just moments ago, “Tipsy” is another masterful single from the young musical genius, and the perfect follow-up to rare. Jamaican producers, KNGBNJMN and Krs and take credit for this dynamic beat, upon which RAYE shines and Odunsi steals our hearts once more.

On “Tipsy”, Odunsi sings about a girl who is thirsty for him. He warns her that he won’t — perhaps can’t — resist, so when she calls him tipsy, she better be ready. On RAYE’s stellar verse, she fires back at Odunsi, instructing him to mobilise because she’s picky with her men and he’s made the cut.

With interlocking lines on the song’s the final verse — before harmonising the closing chorus — Odunsi and RAYE paint a perfect picture of the romantic rendezvous they are about to enjoy, their synergy candidly illustrating the heat of the moment.
