Street walks, business centres have been restricted in Nasarawa state as Governor Abdullahi Sule declared curfew as a means of containing the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
Also, the state government on Thursday, April 16 declared the extension of lockdown in the state by an additional 10 days.
Naija News understands that governor Sule announced that the curfew following the end of the earlier 14-days lockdown exercise will start from the hour of 8:00 pm to 6:00 am to restrict the movement of individuals and some business operations.
However, the restriction of human and vehicle movement and total lockdown of Karu local government area of the state would continue, except on Wednesdays and Saturdays from the hours of 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in other to allow people get themselves some essential commodities in the neighborhoods and not beyond.
“Civil servants in the state from grade level 1 to 12 are to continue to work from homes, except those involved in rendering essential services,” Governor Sule noted.
“Worship centres such as Mosques and Churches are to remain closed. All Markets and businesses are to remain closed except sellers of food items, food vendors and pharmaceutical shops outside the markets.”
Security personnel, government officials and traditional rulers in the state have been urged to ensure complete adherence to the lockdown order.
Reporting earlier, Chikwe Ihekweazu, the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, has noted that every state in the country will be affected by the outbreak of Coronavirus.
