1. Buhari Extends Lagos, Ogun, FCT COVID-19 Lockdown

President Muhamadu Buhari on Monday extended the lockdown on Lagos State, Ogun State and the FCT over the coronavirus outbreak.

Naija News reports that the lockdown extended was for another fourteen days.

2. Coronavirus: Six More Patients Discharged By Lagos State Government

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday confirmed that six more patients have been discharged from the Yaba COVID-19 treatment facility.

Governor Sanwo-Olu in a statement released via his official Twitter account disclosed the six patients had tested negative before they were discharged.

3. IGP Deploys Intervention Squads To Lagos And Ogun

In the wake of recent activities of hoodlums and street urchins in the border communities between Lagos and Ogun States, the Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni, has ordered the immediate deployment of additional intelligence and operational assets of the Force, comprising Police Mobile Force (PMF) Units, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and the Special Tactical Squad (STS), to Lagos and Ogun States to strengthen security and bolster public confidence in the affected areas.

4. Important Things President Buhari Said During The National Broadcast

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday evening addressed Nigerians on the lockdown imposed on Lagos and Ogun States as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Mr Buhari during the broadcast extended the lockdown in place by two extra weeks.

The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has said Nigeria will continue to deal with leadership pandemic that will not easily go away.

The spokesperson to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has warned that there will violence in the country if things continue the way it is at the moment.

Omokri stated this while reacting to the claim that the cash transfer provides for the ‘poorest of the poor’ by the Federal Government is lopsided.

9. Coronavirus: FG Finally Reveals Those Who Brought Chinese Doctors Into Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has disclosed that it didn’t invite the Chinese doctors who arrived in the country last Wednesday to help with the fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, stated this when he appeared on Channels TV’s News at 10 on Saturday.

10. COVID-19: Death Toll Hit 747 In Africa

A new statistics revealed by the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has said that there the 13,814 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 52 countries across Africa.

The body disclosed this on Twitter, through its official Twitter handle on Sunday evening.
