Nigerians on social media are not reacting a viral video that captured the moment a teacher instructed a female student to destroy her phone and that of her schoolmates at the Federal Government Girls College in Akure, Ondo state.
The students had violated the school rules by bringing phones to the institution and as punishment, one of them was asked to destroy all the phones during the school’s morning assembly, under the supervision of one of the teachers.
In the viral video, the student could be seen using a large piece of stone to destroy the mobile devices that were confiscated in the boarding school.
I understand that mobile phones are prohibited in some boarding schools, but asking students to destroy their phones by themselves is not fair enough, especially after they had suspended them from the hostel. This is Federal Girls College in Akure. pic.twitter.com/13LkW8gA0Y
