Reno Omokri, a former spokesperson of Ex President Goodluck Jonathan, has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari for patronizing foreign items despite his administration’s decision to close the borders.

Sharing a photo of Buhari wearing foreign Gucci designer shoes that worth $640 on his Instagram page, Omokri insists that the president should do away with his foreign items if he truly believes in border closure. He wrote:

“General @muhammadubuhari wears IMPORTED $640 @Gucci designer shoes and wristwatches. His second home is London. If he really believes in border closure, he should wear Kano made shoes and Aba made watches. He should abandon the ₦100 million Mercedes Benz Maybach he bought this year with tax payers funds and drive an Innoson. He should attend Aso Rock Clinic instead of a London clinic. He can’t close the border on Nigerians and open it for himself. Practice what you preach!”

The photo seems to be taken when Buhari was departing Abuja for Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to attend the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) organised by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
