Maryam Abacha, the wife of late military Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, has made a shocking claim that she did not make any money when she was the first lady of Nigeria.
Maryam made the claim in Abuja when a Non-Governmental Organization, Empowerment of the Fallen Heroes Wives and Children Initiatives (EFHWCI), gave a posthumous leadership award to her in commemoration of her husband’s service to nationhood.
During an interview at the event, Maryam said that even though she was Nigeria’s First Lady for the 5 years duration of her late husband’s tenure, she never made any monetary gain as she was busy helping people doing charity.
