About three months ago, Nonso Amadi got fans excited when he confirmed plans to release another EP. Well, after a slight delay, the singer-songwriter has finally released Free — a stunning body of work that features industry heavyweights, Simi & Mr Eazi.
Nonso Amadi’s Free opens with light strings and soft wind instruments, offering a serene start to the brilliant body of work, before the tranquil introductory track bleeds into the much-anticipated Simi feature, “Better”.
As Nonso Amadi has earned a name for himself as a sort of musical loverboy, we were expecting Free to be packed full of love songs, however, “Better” and the lead single, “No Crime”, seem to be the only typical love songs on the project.

The title track, “Free” sees Nonso Amadi ask for his space, as he realises his stomach doesn’t flutter anymore when he sees his lover. With an infectious beat and a dynamic ending, “Free” is definitely the standout of the project.
For the Mr Eazi-assisted “Go Outside” — the most energetic track on the tape — the boys brag about how they line up the ladies, while the album closer, “What Makes You Sure” sees Nonso challenge a girl who has lost her trust in him.
Producing all the songs himself, with a little help from Juls and AoD, Nonso Amadi has delivered a wholly impressive project that we truly believe will take him to the next level of his already promising career.
