Zinedine Zidane is prepared to bench Gareth Bale for the entire season, according to The Sun.

Zidane desperately wants the Welshman out of Real Madrid, but any move to a Chinese club has collapsed after the transfer window in China closed.

With few clubs able to afford the 30-year-old the situation could turn into a stalemate, with Zidane unwilling to budge.

James Rodriguez is planning talks with manager Zinedine Zidane over his Real Madrid future, reports ESPN FC.

Rodriguez has returned to Madrid following a two-season loan with Bayern Munich, but Atletico Madrid and Napoli are now interested in his services.

Madrid do not want to sell the Colombian, but he only wants to stay if he can play a significant role this season.

Arsenal have been put off by West Ham’s £60 million ($73m) price tag for defender Issa Diop, according to The Sun.

The Gunners are looking to upgrade their back line, but were unwilling to meet the Hammers’ asking price for the 22-year-old Frenchman.
