A video has emerged of a Bayelsa lawmaker physical assaulting the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in the state, Hon Jothan Amos.

The lawmaker, Hon Wilson Dauyegha, is seen dragging, pushing and shoving the Bayelsa APC chairman in the video shared on social media by the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, who is from Bayelsa State.

Dauyegha, a known political ally of the immediate past minister of state for agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri, represents Ekeremor Constituency II in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly.

According to Oyelami, the lawmaker attacked Hon Amos and vandalized APC’s properties over a joint resolution on direct primaries by the party leadership in the state.

The party chairman, however, resisted attempts to fight back, but instead remained calm, and asked his driver to take him away from the area.

The lawmaker was also seen in the video shouting and tearing the document where the resolution was signed by stakeholders of the party.
