Last month, in a bid to get fans hyped up for his upcoming album, Grammy-nominated rapper, Wale dropped a couple of expectedly fantastic tracks. Now, he’s come through with his first single of this month, “On Chill”, which finds him reuniting with Jeremih.
Earlier on in the week, Wale teased the song by tweeting an Urban Dictionary definition of a “situationship”, which is fitting, as he raps about dealing with a tumultuous, new-era relationship. Jeremih handles the killer hook, which turns out to be the best part of the song.
Against a light, r&b-tinged beat, Wale’s ride-or-die mentality shines on this song, as he acknowledges the ups and downs that come with this type of relationship, explaining that he does his best to keep his energy positive and show his partner love, despite the obstacles.
