A few weeks ago, DJ Neptune released a new project, Love & Greatness — an EDM take on some of his biggest and best hits. Now, with no plans to take a break, the renowned disk jockey has enlisted D’Banj and Flash for a new party-starter, “Ojoro“.
Flash is one of the most exciting up-and-comers working today, and while we don’t get nearly enough new music from him, it’s always a treat when he pops up. Much like on his breakout song, Sarz’s “Get Up”, Flash absolutely kills it on “Ojoro”.
Singing about how far they’ll go for love, both artists make grand promises, affirming that they won’t cheat or do “ojoro” if given a chance. Flash does most of the heavy lifting, handling the hook and two great verses, while D’banj joins in for a closing verse.
While the song’s Magic-produced beat is fantastic, benefiting from a sample of Fela’s “Zombie”, the best thing has to be how it takes each artist out of their comfort zone — merging D’Banj’s veteran sound and Flash’s new school vibe for an undeniable bop.
