A few months ago, following a string of fantastic singles and an EP, Burna Boy confirmed that he’s ready to drop a new album, African Giant. Well, the project is almost here, as the afro-fusion star just shared the album’s July 26th release date, along with its vibrant cover art.

Burna Boy’s career has seen considerable growth in the past year, thanks to the success of his fantastic 2018 mixtape, Outside. It’s been only a year since that game-changing project shook up the music industry, and it’s clear that he’s not stopping in his tracks any time soon.

With fantastic singles like “On The Low”, “Dangote”, “Gbona” and “Anybody”, we have faith that the rest of the album will be just as impressive. A private listening for the album took place in April, following his performance at Coachella. One of the guests in attendance said:

“It is sounding crazy! Listen, if you think the Outside album was serious, THIS album, crazy! Just watch this space. Burna Boy always brings the spiritual vibes, and he knows how to turn the party one.”

While we’re excited about more solo Burna bangers, we’re also looking forward to seeing who he will feature on the 16-track album. While on his last project, his features were only from international artists, we’re hoping he will feature some local artists this time around.

This year, we’ve already gotten a few solid albums from a lot of our faves, such as Simi, Santi and more. We’re definitely pumped for new music, and we’re looking forward to Burna’s counterparts in the industry following suit, as we await albums from Wizkid, Davido and many others.
