Senator Ademola Adeleke of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has finally conceded defeat by congratulating Governor Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressive Congress (APC).

This is coming after the Supreme Court’s ruling which declared Oyetola as the winner of 2018 Osun State Governorship election.

Adeleke informed the public in a statement by his spokesman on Friday, Mr. Olawale Rasheed that his ambition to become the governor of the state isn’t a do-or-die affair. He said:

“As a democrat and law-abiding citizen, I accept the ruling no matter my misgivings. I wish Governor Oyetola well in the governance of Osun State.

“In all circumstances, we must thank God Almighty. We gallantly fought a good fight in pursuance of a democratic cause. The ideals we fought for lives on.

“Our ambition was never a do-or-die affair. We aspired to serve and deliver democratic dividends to the people of Osun state. Our ambition was altruistic. We wish Governor Oyetola the best in the governance of the state.”

This is the end of the road for the legal battle on the mandate in the state. We wish Governor Gboyega Oyetola a successful governance in the state for the next 4 years.
