Ghanaian rising star, King Promise is definitely on a mission to break into the Nigerian market, as a few months ago, he teamed up with Wizkid for the catchy “Tokyo”. Now, he’s enlisted Simi for “Selfish Part 2” — a remix that stands out as one of the best songs off his debut album, As Promised.
While the original song was already a vibe, King Promise does a good job with this remix, and Simi definitely makes a notable difference. By featuring Wizkid and Simi on his debut album, he’s definitely arrived with a bang, while also inching himself into the Nigerian scene.
With a catchy and quick-paced beat, “Selfish Part 2” sees King Promise alternating between Twi and English, singing about how smitten he is with his lover. Simi then joins him for a solid verse in Yoruba and English, where she also confesses fond feelings for her lover.
