Phyno pretty much exists in his own lane, as we don’t have very many indigenous rappers who have seen the kind of mainstream success he has. Four months ago, he released his first single of the year, “Agu”, and now he’s back with yet another impressive track, “The Bag“.
On “The Bag”, Phyno brags about his success, send a message to haters that he’s secured his bag and they should try to be more like him. He lists out all his achievements, saying that it feels good to be getting dough, and he’s focused on getting even more for his niggas to enjoy.
For the colourful music video, which was directed by Patrick Elis, Phyno resides in a mansion filled with traditionally-dressed women dancing spritely. He takes on the role of an Igbo chief, who is playing chess against a suited white man, in order to secure his bag.
