A few weeks ago, an exciting teaser for The Set Up — Niyi Akinmolayan’s Chief Daddy follow-up — was released. Starring Joke Silva, Adesua Etomi, Jim Iyke, Dakore Egbuson and many more, the film immediately piqued our interest, and now we’ve gotten an even more gripping trailer.
The Set Up follows the story of Chike (played by Adesua Etomi) – a badass drug smuggler who is number 2 to the big boss of the cartel (played by Tina Mba) — and a wealthy heiress, Motunrayo (played by Dakore Egbuson).
Chike finds herself in a bit of trouble when she’s hired by a dodgy socialite (played by Jim Iyke), to assist with his scheme to marry Motunrayo, who is set to inherit all of her father’s wealth following his recent passing.
The recently released trailer is tense and engaging, preparing us for a riveting, suspense-filled drama. And given the calibre of the cast and the accomplished director, we have complete faith in The Set Up and can’t wait for its August 9 release.
