APC appoints Adamu, Senate Leader, Kalu, Chief Whip

The All Progressives Congress (APC), after intense meeting on the appointment of principal officers of the National Assembly at the weekend, endorsed former Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu, as Senate leader of the ninth National Assembly. The ruling party also endorsed the appointment of the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, as the Senate Chief Whip.

Other principal officers endorsed by the party include Ajayi Boroffice, Deputy Senate Majority Leader; Yahaya Abdullahi, Deputy Chief Whip.

All the endorsements will be formally announced on Tuesday when the National Assembly reconvenes.

Appointment of principal officers of the House of Representatives is anticipated to be announced also at the resumption of the House on Tuesday.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe from Abia State was a fortnight ago, appointed Senate Minority Leader by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
