The United States of America’s ambassador to Nigeria, William Stuart Symington, has described Nigeria as an idea bigger than the people of the country.
Symington, who made the statement during the 243rd Independence of the United States of America in Abuja, urged Nigerians to live in unity. He said:
“Nigeria is more than a country. Nigeria is an idea. The idea of Nigeria is bigger than Nigerians. This idea is about bringing the world together, so that we truly are not just one nation under God and indivisible, but one family under God and indivisible.”
