Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos has handed down a six-month jail sentence without the option of a fine to cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky. The verdict was delivered this morning, April 12.
Recall that Bobrisky was brought before the court by the EFCC on April 5, facing a six-count charge including Abuse of the Naira and Money laundering.
While the money laundering charges were dismissed by the court, Bobrisky was found guilty of Naira Abuse after pleading not guilty.
The court subsequently ordered his remand in EFCC detention in Lagos.
Originally, the judge had scheduled the hearing for the case’s judgment on April 9. However, due to the Eid-Fitri public holiday from April 9 to April 11, the court was unable to convene during that period.
Below are photos of Bobrisky after she was sentenced to six months in prison.
