Nollywood has lost one of its prominent figures as Ikechukwu Nnadi, widely known as Andy Best, has passed away.
Nnadi, who had been battling a long-term illness, breathed his last at a private clinic in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, on Tuesday.
Confirming the sad news, Mr. Seun Oloketuyi, the organizer of the Best of Nollywood awards, shared on Instagram the passing of Nnadi, referring to him as late.
“Today, we mourn the passing of Andy Best, a distinguished Nollywood producer and marketer. He departed this life in an Owerri hospital,” Oloketuyi wrote.
Andy Best was the CEO of Andy Best Production and was renowned for producing notable movies such as “Lion of Africa,” “White Poison,” “My Father’s Cup,” among others.
Hailing from Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, his demise has left a void in the Nigerian film industry.
His body has been transferred to the Aladinma Mortuary in Owerri.
