Thanks to a standout guest spot on Blaqbonez’s “Mamiwota” and a fantastic, Spax-produced solo track, “Shugar”, Oxlade has announced himself as a breakout star to watch. Now, he’s come through with another solid release, the passionate “Legend”.
Produced by Brian Okorie, “Legend” is an uplifting track that finds Oxlade declaring his confidence in himself. After all the hardship he has faced, he still works hard, certain that it is this persevering spirit that will help him make it.
Acknowledging that he might not be the best and that the journey might take some time, Oxlade still professes that he will be a “Legend”. Well, given the quality of music he has doled out in the last few months, we are inclined to believe him.
The Naya-directed video for “Legend” begins with Oxlade as a young boy, who is so engrossed in the music he is listening to that he tunes out the world. The clip also pays homage to legends that came before him, from Fela to Bob Marley.
