Denco and Ariba, identified as two of the recent victims, were allegedly killed at a drinking spot located at Igun junction between Igbesanmwan and Oza Street, off Sokponba Road in Benin

It was learned that Denco was approached by assailants at the drinking joint, while Ariba was killed in his room shortly after leaving the joint. It was gathered that Ariba, who was intoxicated, left the door of his room open while sleeping

The third victim was reported to have been killed in the 2nd East Circular area on the same day.
This unfolding situation has sparked fear among the residents of Benin.

Recall that, in Benin, over 30 individuals, including a journalist from a private broadcast station and vigilante leaders, lost their lives in a clash between members of the Black Axe and their rivals, the Supreme Eiye Confraternities

When contacted, SP Chidi Nwanbuzor, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, said that he is yet to be briefed on the incidents.

He started “Not until we receive our report from the scene of the crime, I won’t be able to make a statement on something I’m not informed about

“Whatever I would say will be from the report that is coming from that place,” he said.

Kanyi Daily recalls that Mrs. Esther Amali, a retired nurse, and her housemaid, Mercy Mwuese, were stabbed to death by a young man who invaded their residence near the Federal Low Cost in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.
