FCT insecurity worsens after $460m Chinese loan for CCTV cameras

Insecurity has continued to worsen in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after the previous federal government procured $460 million loan from China for installation of CCTV cameras in the FCT.

The FCT has been home to kidnappers in recent time.

Stakeholders are now questioning the utility of the $469 million loan from China or the availability of CCTV camera in the city.

“Nigeria’s capital is experiencing an upsurge in cases of kidnappings; this is the same city that the previous federal government secured a $460 million Chinese loan for the installation of CCTV cameras.

“Both the money and the Cameras have since been kidnapped by elements of the past Governments.”
