We ‘ll train and retain civil servants – Gov. Mutfwang

The Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has assured Civil Servants in the State that his government will ensure the training and retraining of Civil Servants.

Mutfwang said Civil Servants are the life wire and engine room of government therefore it becomes imperative for government to invest in the sector.

The Governor stated this in Jos on Wednesday at the Government House, when Permanent Secretaries paid him a courtesy call.

Addressing the Secretaries, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang described the Secretaries as the custodian of the trust of the people.

According to him: “We are the bearers of the trust of the people of Plateau State and Civil Servants are the custodians of that trust.

“My administration will restore the confidence in the civil service as it is expected to play a greater role in the implementation of programs of government.

“Training and retraining of staff is a must under this administration in order to build capacity of personnel for efficient and productive services.

“This administration will be firm in dealing with all in other to build confidence, trust and transparency in carrying out the day-to-day activities of government”, he said.

In her remarks, the Head of Civil Service, Plateau State, Barr. Mrs. Rauta Joshua Dakok, congratulated Mutfwang over his overwhelming victory at the polls and subsequent taking of the oath of office as the 6th Governor of Plateau State.

She welcomed the Governor into the Government House and assured him of the total support of public servants in the implementation of government policies for the greater good of the people.
