
Femi Gbajabiamila elected as Speaker
Nigerian lawyer, Femi Gbajabiamila who represents Surulere Federal Constituency 1 in Lagos state has been elected as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The All Progressives Congress member who was the Majority Leader in the 8th House of Representatives defeated Umar Bago, the lawmaker representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency of Niger state.
He polled a total of 281 votes to win, while Bago got 76 votes.
